Adventures to Fitness
Kindergarten and 1st grade students are riding a zip line in their new adventure. This year the students have learned about the Arctic, dinosaurs, and the Caribbean all while exercising.
Gymnastics
The 2nd through 5th grade students are working hard to prepare their gymnastic routines! The students show a variety of body, space, effort, and relationships through individual and partner balances with smooth transitions while traveling across the mat.
Dehydration Tag
Kindergarten and 1st grade students learn about the importance of drinking water and staying hydrated. In the pictures below, the students are playing a game called dehydration tag. When students are tagged, they become dehydrated and need the help of their friends to rescue them and give them water.

5th Annual Popsicle Race for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Dear Parents,
For the fourth straight year, the students and parents of Illini Bluffs made the Popsicle Race a success. The students ran over 358,000 laps and donated over $6,000 in the last four years to St. Jude. Each week the students participate in a cardiovascular endurance activity called the “Popsicle Race”. By participating in the “race”, students are able to win small prizes when they reach running milestones while building up endurance. The Elementary School Physical Education Department would like to ask you to help us provide support for children with health issues. We are asking you to sponsor your child for the Popsicle Race. If possible, we would like you to donate one penny for every lap your child runs. Typically, the students run between 150-350 laps over the course of the year. The final day for the Popsicle Race will be April 29, 2016. Donations will be collected by May 6, 2016. $150.00 of the money donated will be used to buy prizes and the rest of the money collected will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
Help us learn to help others!
Thank you for all your help,

Sports Equipment Donation Request
The PE Department is in need of sports equipment. We are specifically looking for mini-basketballs, girls basketballs (for our small hands at the elementary school), Jr. footballs, bouncy balls, tennis balls, and any other fitness equipment that parents have laying around the house not being used. Do you have a piece of fitness equipment (treadmill, elliptical machine, free weights) in the basement that you don't use anymore? Our high school will take it! How about those extra basketballs your kids don't play with anymore? If it is in good shape, we will use it! Do you have an old soccer net not being used? We want it! Don't let your old equipment gather dust. Donate it to us and we will give it a good home!
Please send me an e-mail and I will contact you ASAP to arrange a time to pick up the equipment. Thank you for your help!!!!
